After so many years, I’ve personally wondered where some of these laptop brands have gone. Toshiba has just appeared back into the market with the announcement of the new Portege Z30-E, a laptop made for today’s mobile workforce need.
The Portege Z30-E touts full-size ports into a thin and durable design with an ultra-light body yet packs performance. It has a range of full-size ports too, which is an issue since the dongle life is taking over the world now. Three USB 3.0 ports in total. There’s also conventional ports like both VGA and HDMI on the Portege Z30-E, it can be used in any office with any projectors or external monitors.
The Portégé Z30-E was developed with keeping business moving in mind, from employees in small to mid-size organisations, to large corporate environments – regardless of their location. This addition to the Portégé family provides premium performance with convenient portability, whilst offering an advanced level of security and peace of mind for today’s workforce.

Toshiba proudly states that the Portege Z30-E weighs in at just 1.2 kg with its magnesium chassis. Packed with a battery that can last up to 18-hour battery life, you can charge after 2.5 days worth of work. That’s something to take note of.
The Portege Z30-E has a 13.3-inch non-reflective HD or Full HD screen with LED backlighting so you can work in all lighting conditions – even under direct sunlight.
Through a test called H.A.L.T. (Highly Accelerated Life Test) which simulates approximately 3 years of wear and tear, the Portege Z30-E is still working well. The tests by independent German test institute, TÜV Rheinland include drop-testing, spill-testing and pressure-testing, so users can work confidently in the knowledge that they are using a robust device.
There’s also another trick up its sleeve. There’s an optional Smartcard and SecurePad with fingerprint reader to prevent unauthorized access. Managing the Portege Z30-E is made easy with in-built Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) meaning IT departments can easily make updates at any time.
As for price and availability, it’ll come in Q3 2018. We do not have the solid list of specs just yet, hence prices are up in the air too.
