As we here in the office are moving to high-speed storage, the only issue that we’re facing now is the lack of availability of such high-speed portable storages. We recently did a conversion where we converted an NVMe SSD into an external USB drive – but that’s not for everyone. Transcend introduces its new JetFlash 910, a USB flash drive promises both speed and endurance in a compact form factor.
By utilizing 3D NAND technology, this SSD can reach up to 420MB/s and 400MB/s in read and write speeds respectively – and also has endurance level of 3,000 program/erase cycles – the equivalent of MLC NAND flash. This means that the JetFlash 910 is suitable for write-intensive applications like dashcams, surveillance systems, and even surveillance systems.
Transcend is also offering it in capacities of up to 256GB, which is enough for backing up video projects of our scale while looking stylish yet portable. The aluminum housing makes the USB flash drive less prone to wear while gracing it with an extra touch of sleekness.
As for connectivity, the JetFlash 910 comes with a USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface that tops off at 5Gb/s. It is also pre-formatted in FAT32 which for maximum compatibility, but cannot store a single file larger than 4GB. So, we recommend formatting it to exFAT instead.
The JetFlash 910 also supports the Transcend Elite software which is available for Windows OS, macOS, and Android. It is available for free on Transcend’s official website. The Transcend Elite features backup and restore, data encryption, and cloud backup functions.
Honestly though, it needs a USB-C port. I don’t want to be carrying yet another dongle to convert USB-A male to USB-C female. Just let me connect it directly to my phone.
Transcend’s JetFlash 910 USB flash drive is offered in 128GB and 256GB capacities and backed by Transcend’s five-year limited warranty.
