Transcend, one of the leading manufacturers in storage and multimedia products, just launched a brand new SSD in the market. It is the MTE220S, a PCIe Gen. 3 x4 NVMe SSD with transfer speeds of up to 3,500MB/s read and 2,800MB/s write speeds. Using 3D chips and packing into a M.2 2280 form factor, the MTE220S SSD can have high capacity at a lower price.
Transcend’s MTE220S SSD comes equipped with DDR3 DRAM cache memory which means commonly-used files are loaded much faster. This makes booting up the PC and loading commonly-used applications much faster. Utilizing SLC caching, the MTE220S SSD can reach astonishing read/write speeds of 3,500 MB/s and 2,800 MB/s respectively. Of course, the random 4K access times are improved significantly too. To ensure that the data is without error, the MTE220S is equipped with Low Density Parity Check code.
By utilizing the PCIe Gen. 3 x4 lanes and compatible with the latest NVMe 1.3 bus, the Transcend MTE220S SSD can achieve up to 32 GB/s – which is way faster than SATA III limit of 6 GB/s. The 3D NAND flash chips used in the SSD mean a bottleneck breakthrough that results in vastly improved read and write speeds over 2D planar NAND. Low power consumption and excellent reliability are also hallmarks of this construction, ensuring long-term dependability.
Transcend also has a free proprietary tool made just to monitor the SSD’s health and make sure that it is performing at its tip top condition. The SSD Scope software can view drive information, view S.M.A.R.T. status, perform diagnostic scan, secure erase data, firmware update, TRIM enable, health indicator, and system clone.
As for the warranty, the Transcend MTE220S PCIe Gen. 3 x4 PCIe M.2 SSD is covered by Transcend’s 5-year limited warranty. It also comes in capacities of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
With high sequential read/write speeds and great random 4K access times, the Transcend MTE220S is a beast for all sorts of applications.
