Ultimate Ears, or UE, just expanded their lineup of wireless speakers with the brand new UE MEGABOOM, UE BOOM 2, and the UE ROLL 2. This is also complimented with their brand new app to control the UE speakers – the PartyUp.
I really Ultimate Ears products. I’ve tried UE speakers in the past, and I really loved it. They really do work as advertised, and the sound quality is actually very good compared to other speakers. I really do hope that Ultimate Ears doesn’t disappoint me with their brand new iteration of wireless speakers!
Anyway let’s talk about each and every one of these speakers and the app itself.
UE MEGABOOM
The MEGABOOM is a wireless speaker with 360-degree audio that is able to produce deep bass, and is waterproof too. IPX7 certified to be exact. It’s extremely light – weighing in at slightly less than 2 pounds, and has a long 20-hour battery life.

UE BOOM 2
UE BOOM 2 is another wireless speaker, and it’s the continuation of the 2013 model of the BOOM. The BOOM 2 is 25% louder, and has a 15-hour battery life. Also, it’s waterproof (IPX7 certified) and drop-proof too.

UE ROLL 2
Ah, the pebble-shaped wireless speaker. I really like the design ever since the original ROLL was released a a while ago. This time around, the UE ROLL 2 has improved a lot – equipped with a bungee cord loop and is waterproof (IPX7 certified). I can think of a few ways to enjoy music with the UE ROLL 2 already – hang it out on my balcony, or maybe just in my shower. If you’re interested in bringing the UE ROLL 2 to the beach, a pool, or a bath tub, there’s a special little float that’s included with the UE ROLL 2 itself – the UE Floatie. It’s meant to keep the UE ROLL 2 afloat, so you don’t lose it and get to enjoy music! The UE ROLL 2 is also 15% louder than before!
Product Specifications
- Height: 40mm
- Diameter: 135mm
- Weight: 340g
The UE ROLL 2 is priced at RM 449, and it comes with a 2-year limited hardware warranty too!
UE PartyUp
The PartyUp app is the new app ot connect with all of your UE wireless speakers. It can turn the speaker on and off, controls the volume, EQ, balancing, etc. and also updates the firmware on your UE speakers. Now, the major improvement here is that the brand new PartyUP app can connect up to 50 speakers speakers (50 UP) at the same time. Wow!
That’s seriously impressive, in my opinion. Ultimate Ears – you guys did a good job previously, so impress me again!
