Have you ever wanted to own an iPhone, but you never have the cash to get one? Previously there are a lot of option for you get an iPhone by applying EPP (Easy Payment Plan). If you’re not familiar with EPP, how it works is that you deduct a sum amount (in this case the iPhone price) on to your credit card. However, instead of paying the whole amount in one shot at the end of the month, you divide the amount equally across 12 months (sometimes 24 months depending on the retailer) and only pay the amount for that month.
Occasionally, some telco would offer such EPP program to attract the consumer jumping ship towards their service. Within the package, a 1 or 2 years contract with the said telco will be as their way to guarantee that you won’t be changing telco anytime soon. The main reason EPP is not that well accepted by the public is that it requires you to own a credit card. Moreover, we all know it’s not easy to get one, in some cases people just don’t like owning one.
Few days ago, U Mobile has introduce a new payment scheme for consumer if they wanted to own an iPhone. They call it U Micro Credit (something similar like the AEON Credit) and the best part about this payment plan is that you won’t need a credit card to apply. Not just that, you will also have a very flexible payment tenure up to 36 months if you ever needed it. You however will be screen for approval by the UMC first before you can proceed and get yourself a new iPhone.
There are two setbacks for this plan. First, it is only applicable for iPhone SE variant. Secondly, you will need to pay interest for your loan (like how usually loan works) at 1.5%. Luckily, during this introductory period, the interest rate will be lowered to 0.7%, giving you enough reason to get the iPhone SE yourself.
With these plans, you only need to pay as low as RM58/month for the iPhone SE 16GB and RM73/month for the iPhone SE 64GB. If you’re desperate for a new iPhone and you love the iPhone 5, 5S and SE look (and hate the iPhone 6 design like myself) this is a good deal for you.
