Recently, vivo has shown up at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2026 on March 24, where they highlighted their Blue Technology Matrix along with progress in areas like 6G, Mixed Reality, imaging, and intelligent software, while also reinforcing their ongoing role as a board member and strategic partner for the fifth straight year.

During the forum’s Release Moment session, Hu Baishan, who serves as President and COO, delivered a keynote centered on how imaging will play a central role in connecting digital intelligence with the physical world, describing it as a kind of visual bridge between computing and reality. He made the point that smartphones aren’t going anywhere anytime soon – in fact, over the next decade, they’re expected to evolve into something much more personal, acting as sensory hubs that merge AI with real-world experiences, while imaging effectively becomes the “eyes” that guide AI in navigating the physical environment.

That bigger-picture direction is exactly what the V70 is trying to reflect, packing in features like a 50MP ZEISS telephoto camera using the Sony IMX882 sensor with up to 20x zoom, alongside intelligent shooting modes, ultrasonic fingerprint tech, and OriginOS 6 running on faster memory and storage – all coming together as a single, cohesive experience rather than separate features.

Looking further ahead, vivo is already thinking beyond smartphones, with Hu outlining a shift toward what they call ‘Agent phones’, which are devices that don’t just respond, but can perceive, think, and act, essentially functioning as digital companions. At the same time, the company is expanding its ecosystem strategy across smartphones, headsets, and even robotics, using imaging as a core capability that ties everything together under this “Imaging + AI” approach.

On the global stage, vivo also marked the occasion by presenting the vivo X300 Ultra as the official smartphone for the forum to Zhang Jun, using it as a showcase of its latest advancements in mobile imaging and manufacturing. Beyond the main keynote, vivo is also taking part in discussions around AI-driven industrial transformation and humanoid robotics, sharing its broader R&D direction and how imaging and intelligent systems will intersect across industries.
