The brand new vivo V5s is perhaps the most special smartphone at the price of RM 1,299, and it’s being marketed as the phone with Perfect Selfie mantra, but I see way more than that.
The brand new vivo V5s has a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with f/2.0 selfie camera, and has an updated Selfie Softlight feature. This is certainly something special, as it creates an illumination bright enough to light up the face and not cause us to cringe. Trust me – I’ve dealt with smartphones with a front-facing LED flash that made my eyes hurt every time I take a selfie.
The new vivo V5s even comes with Face Beauty 6.0, which has been fine-tuned based on a thousand users. That’s certainly a large enough sample size, no? It even comes with a total of 3 new features for Face Beauty, namely buffing, whitening, and skin tone.
While the vivo V5s is a selfie-centric smartphone, they did not forget about the rear-facing camera either. Sporting a 13MP f/2.2 camera with PDAF technology and LED flash too. Also, they’ve added a 52MP Ultra HD photo. Simply speaking, it takes 4 different pictures and stitches them together to become one high-resolution picture.
As for the specs, the vivo V5s comes with a Mediatek MT6750 chipset with an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and a massive 64GB internal storage! Let’s not forget about the microSD card slot too, which can add another 256GB of storage. To top it all off, it has a 3,000mAh battery.
As for the software, the vivo V5s is using vivo‘s very own FunTouch OS 3.0 – and has something called App Clone too where you can have two accounts logged in for the same social media app. App Clone here has the ability to login to two accounts for WhatsApp, LINE, BBM, WeChat, Zalo, and also Viber. Possibly adding App Clone for Facebook and Messenger soon too?
The vivo V5s is available in 3 colors – Matte Black, Gold, and Rose Gold. Pre-orders are ongoing now (on Lazada too), and it’ll be available in the market starting 10th May!
