One of the rising stars within the ISP market in Malaysia Weber Meyer, has announced they are ready to disrupt the playing field with its ‘most affordable 1Gbps fiber internet service’ anyone has seen – Just from RM99.
Right off the bat, they championed no data caps and throttling to start (possibly because this is just complete ass by 2024 standard) as well as removing hidden fees and complex contracts to help more Malaysians afford fast internet through the easiest processes.
Of course, at the moment, they are only offering its deals within the Klang Valley area due to the robustness and existing infrastructure capable of supporting such speeds but Weber Meyer will be expanding their operation to other areas when applicable.
Looking ahead, Weber Meyer has outlined ambitious expansion plans across Peninsular Malaysia. The company intends to maintain its commitment to affordability and reliability as it grows beyond the Klang Valley, with a particular emphasis on reaching underserved and rural areas.
This expansion strategy aligns with the company’s vision of nationwide connectivity and supports the government’s Madani Internet program while offering superior speeds and more competitive pricing.
To complement its current fiber services, Weber Meyer is also developing next-generation technologies including a direct-to-device wireless broadband solution but it is currently unknown what sort of price range/user base/unique features this solution is aiming for.
Briefly going through their website we can see they actually have other higher-priced plans yet all of them are at the same 1Gbps speed.
The main difference is the amount of mesh WiFi units included as well as the separate business-exclusive plans with more QoL features that organizations would appreciate.
