Surprise! Introducing the new Redmi Note 9S. We Malaysians will be one of the first to get the new Redmi Note 9S too – starting at the price of RM799 only. It’s an amazing price – but what does it have to offer at such a price?
Well, let’s start off with the specs first.
- 6.67-inch display with 2400×1080 pixels in resolution
- Punch hole notch
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset
- Up to 6GB RAM
- Up to 128GB of storage
- Expandable via microSD card
- Quadruple rear-facing cameras
- Main: 48MP f/1.79
- Ultra-wide angle: 8MP f/2.2
- Macro: 5MP with autofocus
- Depth sensor
- 16MP selfie camera
- 5,020mAh battery
- Supports 18W fast charging
- Bundled 22.5W charger (what???)
The new Redmi Note 9S also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. That seems to be the trend nowadays since many other brands are moving towards side fingerprint scanner too. I mean, it’s better than under-display fingerprint scanners for sure.
The Redmi Note 9S still retains the 3.5mm audio jack and IR blaster too. These are the two features that I constantly use.
We have already tested another smartphone with Snapdragon 720G chipset – and that chipset is actually quite efficient yet relatively powerful for a mid-range smartphone
