The ZenFone Max is where ASUS said this – “HEY, let’s make a smartphone with the biggest battery capacity ever!” – and of course I’m paraphrasing just a little here. ASUS did come out with a new smartphone with a huge battery, and also manage to get some decent hardware into it, all nicely wrapped with an unbelievably affordable price.
ASUS did just that by putting a humongous 5,000mAh battery – and I’m not joking, that’s nearly twice as much as my current smartphone – and that got me through my day easily. The ZenFone Max that we’re getting in Malaysia is the ZC550KL, and has specs as listed below.

Sure, this phone isn’t the smallest or the lightest. With such a big battery, there are surely some compromise (at least with today’s technology), and it comes in the dimension of 77.5x156x10.55 milimeters, and weighs at 202 grams with the much-desired battery in it.
On the ASUS’s product specification page for the ZenFone Max however, it states that OTG cable is included, so I presume that this image that they sent to us is for you to do humanity a favour!
One more thing – OTG cables can be used for other things besides charging other people’s phones – more on in the future.
Hey, it only costs RM899 for this smartphone with 5,000mAh battery. Greatest deal ever? I think yes!
Overkill battery capacity with the lowest price!
