There are way too many SSDs in the world these days. Most enthusiasts will own at least one SSD for themselves, and SSDs are even getting cheaper by the day. However, the price/gigabyte ratio of an SSD isn’t going to match HDD’s ratio anytime soon. However we can still choose one budget-oriented SSDs, which offers that SSD speed boost we all crazed, but without breaking the bank. This might be it – the Transcend SSD370S.
There’s nothing really much to talk about an SSD here, so let’s get right into it.
The box itself has the exact same packging style as the other Transcend products – typical packing style. Product information is all at the front of the front of it, and I just like how they’re really transparent about its content.
At the side is where Transcend tells you to download their system cloning software so that you can transfer your OS to the SSD370S without any hassle.
Open the box and all of its contents just pour out. Transcend also included 8 screws too, so that the 3.5-inch bracket can be used for those who are repurposing an old case that doesn’t have any dedicated SSD mountings. The SSD370S performed commendably well for a budget SSD.
Wrap up
For a SATA III-based SSD, it’s good. I’m saying this because for a 512GB SSD, the value it offers is very good. At Lazada, the SSD can be found for about RM640-ish.
Doing a little math, that means the 512GB SSD370S variant has a ratio of RM1.25/gigabyte. That’s amazing!
