There comes a time when product design has only two aspects. It’s either form, or function. Every once in a while, there’s a product that balances both aspect. There wasn’t any product that I know of that went beyond people’s expectation in terms of form and function together. I think the Honor 8 is the first smartphone to blow people’s minds.
We’ve seen many smartphones with metal or glass, but nothing alike the Honor 8. Look at this.
Simply gorgeous. It has 2.5D glass at the front and back, making the entire smartphone feels like it’s wrapped within the metal. Honor knows the current rumour that everyone is seeking for a blue coloured smartphone these days, and they actually delivered it with specs way ahead of its competitors.
As far as we know, the Honor 8 features dual 12MP rear-camera – alike its sibling the Huawei P9. As far as we know now, the dual-camera system here works very similar to the Huawei P9 too, and there’s zero camera protrusion. Just one big piece of glass, covering the entire back of the Honor 8 and the cameras. Real slick design. The front-facing selfie camera isn’t neglected too, as it features an 8MP sensor with flash.
In terms of specs, we know that the Honor 8 sports a 1080p 5.2-inch screen with HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset, featuring octa-core processors too. Paired with 4GB of RAM and 3,000mAh battery, it’s going to be one tough smartphone to dethrone, as it costs only $399.99 USD. Roughly translates to about ~RM1606.20.
There’s no official pricing or availability of the Honor 8 in Malaysia yet, but damn, I personally think it’s a fantastic deal.
