HTC just launched a brand new smartphone in the market that is aimed towards the mid-range audience with the new U12 Life. It packs with specs that we think is actually pretty good.
The all new HTC U12 Life packs a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2160×1080. Comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and expandable via microSD card, the HTC U12 Life seems to be in a pretty good position. It even comes with a 3,600mAh battery as well.
As for the cameras, HTC is boasting a dual rear-facing cameras with 16MP f/2.0 + 5MP depth sensor and another 13MP f/2.0 selfie camera with backside illumination (BSI) sensor. Though once again, no autofocusing.
A few interesting things to note here is that the HTC U12 Life has a USB-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, and also NFC.
The HTC U12 Life is available right now in two colors – Moonlight Blue and Twilight Purple at the price of RM1,399.
On paper, the HTC U12 Life seems to be a pretty good contender in the mid-range market. However, I do still feel that the price is a little bit too high for the specs that it offers. HTC really needs to trim down the price a little to compete in the market.
At this point of time, the ASUS ZenFone 5 actually has all of the same specs but a lot cheaper. However, for those who have already used HTC Sense UI since the early days – you’ll know that certain special feel that only the HTC Sense UI can offer. To be frank, I still think HTC’s Sense UI is one of the UI that makes sense – pun intended.
