For E3 2019, I was a spectator for that’s new – because I am a gamer myself and I am also excited to see what’s new. As games kept re-releasing as ports, remasters, and even remakes, there are also companies that are re-releasing consoles that we’ve grown up with. The upcoming retro console rerelease is the SEGA Genesis Mini, which Epicsoft Asia Pte. Ltd. will be bringing in and selling it at the same time as the rest of the world, on 19th of September 2019.
This is a retro mini console that will be priced at USD $79.90. As for other countries, here are the prices:
- Singapore – 119.90 SGD
- Malaysia – 359.00 MYR
- Thailand – 3,390 THB
- Indonesia – 1,499,000 IDR
- Philippines – 4,590 PHP
The main highlights of the SEGA Genesis Mini are:
- 55% smaller in size compared to its original, alongside with replica ports and a sliding volume control
- 2x USB controllers with 3-button layout as per the original SEGA Genesis
Of course, the main purpose of these retro console rereleases is about the games. The new SEGA Genesis Mini comes pre-loaded with 42 classic games that we’ve grown up with, including:
- Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
- Alisia Dragoon
- Altered Beast
- Beyond Oasis
- Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse
- Castlevania: Bloodlines
- Columns
- Comix Zone
- Contra: Hard Corps

It’s time to relive the simpler days by gaming. We will update this space when we have the pre-order details.
