HTC is a name that many of us haven’t heard for quite some time now. However, they’re not stopping either. We first talked about the Desire 12 and Desire 12+ here, and now they’re finally arriving into the Malaysian market! They’re priced below RM900, by the way.
Firstly, a quick rundown of the specs. Both of them have quite a significant difference in terms of specs, so it’s truly worth highlighting.
HTC Desire 12 (RM739)
- 5.5-inch 18:9 aspect ratio with 720p resolution IPS LCD
- MediaTek MT6739 chipset with quad-core processor
- 3GB RAM
- 32GB storage
- 13MP rear-facing camera with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and BSI sensor
- 5MP selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture and BSI sensor
- 2,730mAh battery
HTC Desire 12+ (RM899)
- 6-inch 18:9 aspect ratio with 720p resolution IPS LCD
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset with octa-core processor
- 3GB RAM
- 32GB storage
- 13MP + 2MP rear-facing camera with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and BSI sensor
- 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and BSI sensor
- 2,965mAh battery
It’s quite disappointing to see that HTC decided to stick with a 720p resolution screen even with a 6-inch. Also, 32GB of storage? That’s quite insufficient for most users nowadays.
Of course, the main highlight of HTC smartphones in its beautiful design and also the HTC Sense UI. Seriously, after so many years, I still think HTC Sense is one of the best out there in the market. It’s original, and definitely has some Sense (pun intended) in terms of user experience. Though, with the specs, I seriously wonder if it’s worth the price that HTC is asking. Perhaps some other phones in the market like the Redmi 5 Plus that we reviewed here, the Redmi Note 5, or the upcoming ZenFone Max Pro (M1) are better alternatives.
However, HTC is partnering up with Shopee to bring you the latest HTC Desire 12 & Desire 12+ at a discounted price. In line with this launch, HTC lovers can pre-order the HTC Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12+ on Shopee at a special price of RM599 (RRP RM739) and RM729 (RRP RM899) respectively. They’ll be available in both Warm Silver and Cool Black.
The offer will be valid for a limited time only and will go LIVE at 9am sharp on 26 April 2018.
