Wow, this is breaking news indeed. President Trump just announced that Huawei in specific will continue to be able to trade with the US. This essentially means that the initial ban announcement from about a month ago is rendered invalid.
That also means that Android Q will surely be coming to Huawei and Honor devices as listed here. The companies have also been instilling confidence on its users that software support will not be an issue by releasing the EMUI 9.1 and Magic UI 2.1 firmware updates not too long ago. Some users have already gotten the update, too.
The main highlight the speech that Trump is that Huawei will be able to trade with the US without restrictions. That means Huawei and Honor smartphones are able to continue using Android with all of Google’s services, while its MateBook series of laptops are able to use Microsoft Windows and Intel’s x86 CPUs.
With this crisis aversion means that all current users of Huawei and Honor smartphones can continue using their smartphones in peace and potential customers can now purchase these smartphones without worry! 👏
