Now, we’ve seen a handful of 108MP cameras in the market. Last year, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 was the world’s first smartphone to feature a 108MP camera – and we actually loved its potential and how we can maximize it. Today, we have the new Mi 10T Pro – comes at a relatively lower price but with much better value overall.
Today, we’re only focusing on the Mi 10T Pro because it has OIS, whereby the Mi 10T does not. OIS is important if we want to get a stable shot instead of a blurry mess – especially videos.
But let’s first go through the camera specs on the Mi 10T Pro:
- Main: 108MP f/1.7 with PDAF; OIS
- Ultra-wide angle: 13MP f/2.4, 123° FOV
- Macro: 5MP f/2.4 with autofocus
With that said, the main camera is a pretty massive 1/1.33-inch sensor with 1.6μm pixel size. You don’t have to take pictures in full 108MP resolution but you can scale it down by 4 times the size by utilizing the 4-in-1 Super Pixel technology, making the pictures extremely sharp and yield better results especially in indoors and low-light situations.
Here are some dark shots that I took.
Now, the software part is also important. The latest MIUI 12 brings a few updates to the camera UI – particularly how the camera modes can now be rearranged to however we want.
As for video capabilities, the Mi 10T Pro can take 8K 30fps videos but I highly suggest you not to take videos in 8K 30fps at all and downscale it to 1080p 30fps with image stabilization. Take a look at this video here – I was shaking the phone quite intensely and it’s still stabilized magnificently.

And if you want to get the maximum amount of attention on social media but without the effort, the vlog mode is still present on the Mi 10T Pro too. You can create some fantastic-looking videos easily.

More than just a phone
But of course, the Mi 10T Pro is more than just a smartphone with a great camera. It also has a really high-grade 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen with 144Hz refresh rate that made me think it’s an OLED screen. And honestly, 144Hz refresh rate is amazing.
To make sure you can actually use 144Hz all of the time, the Mi 10T Pro has a massive 5,000mAh battery that can last more than a single day’s worth of usage. Since the Mi 10T Pro also comes with a 33W fast charger, I can get it from 15% to 100% in about 60 minutes.
As for performance – the Snapdragon 865 is all you need. But don’t take our word for it – our gaming video is proof that the Snapdragon 865 can handle your games smoothly.
The best thing is, both the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro are equipped with the same Snapdragon 865 chipset with the same 6.67-inch 144Hz screen!
