So Acer’s booth at COMPUTEX this year is as massive as expected since they are always more or less doing things at this scale. But let’s go through some of the stuff showcased over there that I think you would like. Nothing too “weird” or “proof of concept” though, it’s all practical.
First, we have the Swift Air 14 being positioned as the latest ultra-light everyday laptop, weighing under a kilogram while still packing Intel Core Series 3 processors with an integrated AI NPU. It comes with a 14-inch 120Hz display, quad speakers with DTS:X Ultra audio, and a colorful selection of finishes that make it feel more lifestyle-oriented than the typical productivity notebook.
For users looking for a more flexible machine, the Spin Air 14 AI is the alternative here. Through the convertible design, it can easily switch between laptop and tablet modes, targeting students, creators, and mobile professionals who want touchscreen functionality alongside the latest AI PC capabilities. Processor-wise, this one is the same as the former.
On the gaming side, the Predator Helios 18 AI was easily one of the biggest attractions. Acer’s flagship gaming laptop can be configured with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. It pairs that hardware with an 18-inch 4K Mini LED display running at up to 240Hz, alongside support for up to 256GB of memory and as much as 6TB of PCIe Gen5 storage. In short, it’s the kind of machine built for enthusiasts who want desktop-class performance in a portable form factor.
One of the latest segments the brand entered is the premium gaming handheld via the Predator Atlas 8. he device features an 8-inch 120Hz touchscreen, Intel’s new Arc G-Series platform, support for XeSS 3, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and up to an 80Wh battery. The AeroBlade cooling solution found in its laptops also made it over for sustained performance and cooler thermal management.
Handling-wise, the triggers and joysticks are nice and accurate; the entire package could be a little bit heavier on the side, though. But on the other hand, it means the build quality is up to standards too.
For something a little different, the Nitro Blaze Link takes a cloud and local-streaming approach rather than trying to run games natively. The handheld connects to the same Wi-Fi network as a gaming PC and streams games directly to its 7-inch Full HD touchscreen. Weighing just 464 grams and equipped with Wi-Fi 6, it’s essentially Acer’s answer for gamers who want a lightweight device dedicated to remote play around the house.
Overall, Acer’s booth felt like a showcase of multiple directions at once – ultra-light AI PCs for everyday users, high-end gaming systems for enthusiasts, and a growing push into handheld gaming through both the Predator Atlas 8 and Nitro Blaze Link.
