A new camera brand has entered Malaysia, and its name is AKASO. With their debut, they have brought in the AKASO 360, a portable 360° action camera designed for today’s content creators.
The unit comes with a stunning 5.7K 360° video recording, 72MP photos, and dual 48MP sensors for absolute photo and video quality, and through its unique reframing capabilities, users can shoot once and later extract multiple creative formats, whether for vertical reels or panoramic wides.
It is designed to accommodate the needs of outdoor hobbyists who want to record a piece of their action, such as action sports and outdoor adventures like biking, diving, mountaineering, skiing, and hiking.
Rugged and reliable, it also comes with AI subject tracking that keeps moving subjects perfectly framed, while 360° horizon lock ensures level and stable footage even during intense motion. Adding to its creative potential, the invisible selfie stick effect digitally removes the stick from footage, delivering smooth, third-person-like shots.
For navigation, it has a 2.29-inch touchscreen that displays real-time previews as well as an easy-to-use interface, while the companion app streamlines editing, reframing, and sharing content directly from a smartphone — no desktop or account required.
Lastly, they also showcase several demo units of their existing lineup that they will be bringing into Malaysia in the future.
Price and Availability
There are 2 SKUS for the AKASO 360 – The Standard Combo and the Creator Combo, where the latter has more practical gears for content creators on the move.
The respective prices are RM999 and RM1,099, but as part of the launch promo, the Standard Combo will go for RM899 while the Creator Combo gets a 1+1 month warranty extension for longer protection.
If you want some more mounting gears and assistive hardware to get a better experience, AKASO Malaysia is ready to sell them in an “ala carte” format.
