What’s the ultimate laptop for enterprises? Well, that has to be the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra with the model number B9406CAA. This laptop here – is pretty much overkill, but when it comes to security, lightness, performance, and premium experience – there’s no such thing as overkill. And I discovered quite a lot of things about this laptop, so let’s talk about all of them here in today’s review.
So, what do I mean by the ultimate laptop for enterprises? In my opinion, on top of being a great laptop, an enterprise laptop will also have to tackle 6 main points:
- Physically durable to withstand wear and tear and also accident-proof
- Ironclad security that’s also self-healing
- Bright and color-accurate display to view anything anywhere
- Lightweight and strong
- Great performance since time is money
- Long-lasting battery life so it’ll be ready to go whenever needed
Design
The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra is one of the lightest laptop that I’ve held in my hands so far. It has an aviation-inspired AeroEdge design, and that ExpertLumi feature – which is essentially a built-in LED bar below the screen that welcomes you with a warm glow, kinda looks like how the lights in an airport runway will light up. Quite a nice touch.

This is a 14-inch laptop that weighs less than a kilogram while being around 1.1cm thin at most. Even if it’s held the wrong way, the laptop is not damaged in any way. This is thanks to the engineers at ASUS for making the magnesium-aluminium alloy chassis. Then, it is coated with nano ceramic technology. ASUS claims that with this coating, it has a 9H hardness rating.

So far, I’ve not babied this laptop at all. I have placed it with some other metal parts in a bag and jostled it around. There are marks appearing on the laptop, sure – but we can just wipe them off. Easy.

Durability
And that’s not all in terms of its durability. The entire ASUS ExpertBook series of laptops is literally built to last. So, just like the previous ExpertBook series of laptops that we reviewed, the ExpertBook Ultra still has metal-reinforced plates for the I/O ports on the board, but ASUS also added even more metal plates like these stability plates on both sides and a horizontal bar across the entire laptop to prevent flexing, and also standoffs for structural integrity.

With these additions, this 14-inch ExpertBook Ultra is ultra thin and ultra light, yet it is built to withstand 100kg worth of weight sitting directly on it. Seriously, I am personally afraid that the table will break since there is so much weight concentrated on one point.

Accident-proof
But what about accidents? For example, liquid spills. It happens, so how does this laptop deal with it? The answer – just treat it like nothing even happened, because it can handle a bottle of water poured directly onto the keyboard. Remember, the laptop has all of its components under the keyboard. This is the same feature as found on the previous ExpertBook series of laptops that we reviewed.

Screen
Now, you’ll need a great display to view everything that’s shown on the screen with utmost accuracy. Videos, graphics, they need to be color-accurate so there is no room for misinterpretation. And this ExpertBook Ultra has one of the craziest display on a laptop that I’ve seen.

So, let’s talk about the specs. This screen is 14-inch in size with the first of its kind – a touchscreen Tandem OLED panel, 2880×1800 pixels in resolution, goes up to 120Hz refresh rate, protected by the Corning Gorilla Victus, and covered with Corning Gorilla Matte as well. From what we’ve tested, this laptop can go up to around 641 nits in max brightness, and also 4.23 nits minimum.
However, when we turned on HDR, it shoots up to 1275 nits. Yeah, it’s supremely bright.

And yet in terms of the color gamut coverage and the color accuracy, the results are all really good across the board too – which is actually what we’ve come to expect from an ASUS laptop as they’ve been releasing laptops with OLED screens for the past few years already.

Because this is a matte display, the screen is superbly comfortable to use. Crazy, right?
Oh – at the top of the screen, we also have Windows Hello face recognition for easy biometrics, and there is also a physical slider to cover the webcam for privacy reasons.

Keyboard
And yet, ASUS didn’t sacrifice on the typing feel of this keyboard too. It has a very good travel distance, a rather soft actuation force, and it is also bounces back up really quickly, making it responsive and great for touch-typists.

Plus, at the top right corner there, this button is actually the power button plus the fingerprint sensor. Since I have enrolled my fingerprint to Windows Hello already, I can just use that finger to press the power button, and it’ll automatically use the finger’s print to login for me. Yes, the fingerprint scanner will cache my fingerprint so we don’t have to touch the scanner again when Windows is booted up. This is a very seamless experience and it just works.

Trackpad
The trackpad is also massive. It’s super smooth to glide on, and it actually uses a haptic engine underneath to “imitate” a click. The trackpad itself does not move at all. So far, I had no issues with the palm rejection or the finger tracking – and I can also use the touchscreen to navigate if I feel like it.

Speakers
One thing that I rarely highlight in laptops is the speakers. Surprisingly, the speakers in this laptop is rather huge and there are 6 speakers inside this laptop. Instead of talking about them, have a listen in the video at the top of this review.
Performance
But of course, we need superb performance to fully take advantage of everything this laptop has to offer. And this laptop is actually comparable to an RTX 4050 laptop, thanks to the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor that is coupled with the Intel Arc B390 integrated GPU.

Seriously, this processor is so powerful that we can edit videos on DaVinci Resolve and it still takes a really short time to render our test footage with the YouTube preset. I mean, about 2 minutes to render this is better than some of the other processors already, mostly thanks to the Arc B390’s raw power.

We also don’t have to worry about the RAM and storage as this laptop comes with up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM at 8533MT/s and also up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSD.

We can even install and play games on this laptop too, since it’s that powerful. I’m not sure if this is approved since this laptop is meant for work – but it just so happens to be powerful enough to run games as well.

Anyway, this laptop comes with the ExpertCool Pro thermal solution that is designed to handle up to 50W of TDP. It might not sound like much – but the main highlight is that we can close the lid and the cooling capability is unaffected. We ran the benchmark with the lid opened and closed – and we found out that the performance is basically the same.

Since the laptop doesn’t breathe through the keyboard, it can be isolated entirely. That’s why the keyboard can withstand liquid accidents without any damage.
Battery life
As for the battery life, this laptop is equipped with a 70Wh battery and can last for around 19 hours and 42 minutes in our standardized PCMark 10 Modern Office battery life test. This is an amazing battery life, and we can edit videos while on battery, and it can still last throughout the entire day.

Charging speed
The charging speed is no slouch either. Even equipped with a 70Wh battery, it’ll take only around 1.5 hours to charge from completely 0% to 100%. It also only wastes around 13Wh of energy – which is less energy consumed compared to an LED lightbulb.

Ports
Oh, let’s also talk about the ports. We have a very good selection of ports here – which is rare for laptops this thin. I truly appreciate the fact that ASUS placed one Thunderbolt 4 on each side, so we can plug in either side to charge the device.

Upgradability
In case we need to upgrade the 2TB SSD to a massive 4TB SSD, it’s also easy to do so. There are just a few screws to unscrew, and the entire back panel can pop out in one go.

Under the backpanel, we can find the SSD right in the middle. We can also clean the fans if needed, and we can see that the fans sit directly on top of some components – and they’re directly cooled by the fans.

We can also see that all the ports are reinforced by a metal brace as well, and the stability bars sit directly beside them.
By the way, there is also a chassis intrusion sensor on the motherboard. Since we opened up the back panel, it’ll alert the user that the chassis has been opened before when we start up the laptop next time.
Best security
And about that, this laptop is also able to be strong in the digital world in terms of its security too. As this laptop is made to handle critical information in the company, it is no surprise that it also has dual BIOS ROM. We can actually find the two BIOS ROMs on the motherboard if we look hard enough.

A computer is most vulnerable when it is updating the BIOS. any sort of power loss or corruption can literally brick the entire device. So, by having dual BIOS, it can update one of the BIOS ROM first. If it succeeds, then that updated BIOS will be copied to the second BIOS. But if the BIOS update fails, the device will use the second BIOS as the fallback and “heal” the first BIOS ROM.
This feature is great to have, any more computers need this feature. That’s one of the many reasons why this laptop is compliant with the NIST SP 800-193 guideline.
ASUS MyExpert
Also, since the ExpertBook Ultra is so powerful, we can leverage its performance to locally host an entire AI chatbot to get things done.

We also have to talk about the ASUS ExpertPanel suite of features. By clicking here, we’re presented with a list of features. The AI Meeting Minutes work the same as before – we can directly record a meeting minute or upload an audio file, then it’ll transcribe and summarize the entire meeting minute using AI.

AI Translated Subtitles is still here too. It will transcribe and put it up on the screen as a subtitle, then translate if needed too. All of this is done in real time, and it’s actually rather accurate. After the translations are done, we can also export the entire subtitle as a text file.

The webcam watermark feature is still here too, as it can place a business card on the screen so that anyone in a particular meeting can directly get your contact information.

And in case we’re showing anything confidential on our screen, the screen watermark feature is here too. I’ve personally seen some embargoed meetings using this feature, and it works really well.

There is also a paid subscription now that adds even more features, like accessing the AI servers from ASUS for even faster AI tasks.

And in case 64GB of RAM and the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H is not enough, we can clear the memory, then select Turbo Mode for even more performance. Keep in mind that the Turbo Mode will only last for half an hour, and it’ll drop back down to whatever power profile we’ve selected previously.
Other features that are coming soon – are very useful features that I wish that I have right now. I’m really liking the fact that it can do the basic chats that we’ve come to expect, generating summaries of documents, quickly writing and and drafting email replies, search for files both locally and in the cloud services like Google Drive.
Should you buy the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra?
So, at the end of the day – should you buy the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra? Well, this laptop is literally a top-tier Windows laptop meant for enterprises, but it somehow also matches my use case as a content creator too, since I need a great display, great performance, great battery life, and also have my contact information displayed when I join a meeting.

The price for the new ASUS ExpertBook Ultra B9406CAA starts from RM7,999 for the Intel Core Ultra 5 version, but you can customize by picking and choosing what hardware you want in your ASUS ExpertBook Ultra too.
Both variants are also powered by the same 70Wh battery, so we’ll enjoy the great battery life either way.

There is also an early-bird promo where you can get RM500 of MH eGift Card for Malaysia Airlines too! The promotion period is from 10th June to 31st July 2026. All in all, this is a fantastic laptop. I really like what ASUS did with the ExpertBook Ultra, and this laptop is the flagship of the industry.
