We’ve just covered the recent unveiling of the new slew of laptops from ASUS and ROG. In case you haven’t realized, both ASUS and ROG are technically under two different major brands but still owned by ASUS themselves. Here, we can see the brand new Zephyrus M (GM501) and the new ASUS series of gaming laptops – the TUF Gaming laptops.
Thanks to the lovely folks over at ASUS Malaysia, we have the entire list of specs with all the variants and prices alongside with availability in one single handy table.
We’ve already seen the slew of gaming laptops before, but today is where we get to witness it for the first time. Just a quick refresh, all of the existing laptops are getting refreshed with the brand new Intel 8th Gen processors and also with a few more upgrades.
Firstly, the new G703. The beastly laptop has been updated with the latest and greatest 8th Gen Intel Core processor with i9-8950HK processor. Obviously, this laptop is not meant to be portable – but good enough for those who want a supremely powerful laptop for lag-free video editing yet is portable.
The new ROG Zephyrus M laptop has the usual laptop design with the trackpad on the wrist area compared to the original ROG Zephyrus that we came to know of. It’s also a tad little bit thicker than the original ROG Zephyrus. However, the ROG Zephyrus M is indeed placed below the original ROG Zephyrus design.
Speaking of that, the original ROG Zephyrus laptop got an update to the 8th Gen Intel processor too. In terms of its design, it’s still the similar design. With the same thin and light design and a flap that opens at the back to have a direct air intake.
Both the ROG Scar and Hero edition have been updated to the latest 8th Gen Intel Core processors. The new Scar and Hero edition now comes with higher refresh rate to 144Hz with 3ms response time – depending on the specs you get, of course.
Last but not least, the brand new ASUS FX504 TUF Gaming laptop series. It’s meant to replace the existing nameless FX503 series and give it an identity. Of course, the ASUS FX503 TUF Gaming laptops are actually much more wallet-friendly compared to other series out there. The cheapest variant comes with a TN panel though, but we highly recommend you to get the IPS one instead. Ironically, the TUF Gaming logo is nowhere to be found on the laptop’s lid.
The entire specs sheet with all the variants and comparisons is provided from our lovely folks over at ASUS. Thanks to them, we have an easy comparison of the entire series of laptops.

The prices are actually pretty attractive. Starts from RM3,299 for the ASUS TUF Gaming laptop, it does pack quite an admirable slew of hardware – but the 4GB of RAM is definitely something to be upgraded from. Perhaps get another SSD in the mean time?
