During our trip to Computex 2018, we first saw the new ZenBook Pro laptop. It is ASUS’s answer to those laptops which are meant for creators – and they’ve done it really well this time around too. Packing the laptop with powerful hardware and also a sleek design alongside with a brand new neat feature called the ScreenPad, the ASUS ZenBook Pro is here to dominate the market.
It’s quite an interesting laptop to be honest. The ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 offers up to Intel Core i9-8950HQ and also up to NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti. Once again, this laptop is meant for creators – but the hardware is actually quite okay for those who plays games as well. Not the latest and greatest AAA titles in the highest settings, but let’s say Overwatch at 60FPS @ 1080p.
The most interesting feature here is the ScreenPad. The trackpad is now a 5.5-inch touchscreen with 1080p resolution – just like many smartphones! There are a few compatible apps right now – starting with ASUS’s built in apps. Since Computex 2018’s announcement, ASUS has added a few more apps which is compatible with the ScreenPad:
- ScreenPad Toolbar
- ScreenPad Launcher
- ScreenPad Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
- ScreenPad Numkey
- ScreenPad Calendar
- ScreenPad Music Player
- ScreenPad Online Video player
- ScreenPad Calculator
- ScreenPad for Spotify
- ScreenPad Handwriting
- ASUS Sync
- ASUS SpeechTyper
- Adobe reader Digital Signature
- Spotify
- YouTube
Another fantastic thing about the ScreenPad is that you can actually pair it to your phone and look at your notifications right at the ScreenPad itself. If that’s not that you like, then you can make the ScreenPad to become a secondary display, extended from the first one.

During Computex of 2018, we saw the ZenBook Pro 14 as well. We had the opportunity to ask ASUS Malaysia’s team about this and their answer is actually very good. Through their marketing survey, says that the 15-inch laptops are more popular here. Which I quite agree. With the NanoEdge display that has smaller bezels, laptops with 15-inch is actually small like 14-inch laptops.
Oh by the way – the new VivoBooks have been launched as well. You can go out and purchase one today. Comes in many different colors. Click here to learn more about them.
