In case you’re wondering how’s ASUS ROG GX501 Zephyrus is doing, then let me tell you this – the momentum is building now. Especially when it comes to NVIDIA’s new Max-Q design, as it’s really getting more common in gaming laptops these days.
In conjunction with the ASUS ROG Masters 2017 qualifiers that’s happening at One Utama this weekend (16th-17th September 2017), the GX501 Zephyrus, the Strix GD30 desktop, and updates the GT51 desktop were launched beforehand on the same stage.
Without further ado, here are the gaming rigs by ASUS ROG.
ASUS ROG GX501 Zephyrus
Comes with NVIDIA’s Max-Q design for the GTX1080 and a custom design where the plate is raised when the lid is opened, the ASUS ROG GX501 Zephyrus aims to be the most portable yet powerful gaming laptop. This is quite true, as the ASUS ROG GX501 Zephyrus is only at 16.9mm when closed, and 17.9mm after the back is raised.
The ASUS ROG GX501 Zephyrus comes with a bunch of other advanced cooling technologies which ASUS ROG dubs it as the ROG Active Aerodynamic System (AAS). There are holes at the top of the CPU and GPU die area which is for ventilation purposes. Remember – hot air rises.
ASUS also opted to use a new type of fan blade made out of liquid crystal polymer (LCP) which enables them to reduce the fan thickness by 33% and add up to 71 fan blades compared to the usual 53 blades.
Specs of the ASUS ROG GX501 Zephyrus are as mentioned in the leak here – very accurate leaks by the way. Few points to add – the GX501 Zephyrus has a 15.6-inch IPS 120Hz panel with G-Sync technology to prevent tearing.
Now for the big question – how much does the GX501 Zephyrus cost? Well, for just RM15,999 – it can be yours! You can pre-order right now at any of the ASUS stores nationwide too. First 12 orders get a special set of gifts worth over RM2,000!
Check out our photo gallery of the GX501 Zephyrus too. Looks gorgeous. I mean, that show girl can hold the Zepyhrus and stay at that position for us to take pics for at least 10 minutes. She stayed still and didn’t flinch one bit! That surely says something about its weight, no?
ASUS ROG GT51CH
Remember that ASUS ROG GT51 that was launched about a year ago? That desktop has now been updated to have the latest and greatest hardware – packing the Intel i7-7700K and also double GTX 1080 in SLI.
Comes with something that ASUS is calling as Aegis III too – a three-way overclocking technology that enables easy and safe processor, graphics card, and memory overclocking.
Price of the GT51CH is at RM11,999 and is available for pre-orders too. I mean, the real price of it is on the looks. That Ironman-like aesthetic is definitely worth extra, am I right?
ASUS ROG Strix GD30
The one that’s launched in Malaysia specifically is the ASUS ROG Strix GD30CI. This PC looks like something that came out of Star Wars with that Stormtrooper/Clone Trooper look. This desktop comes with the 7th generation Intel Core i7-7700 (the non-K edition) and GTX1070. There’s also a hot-swappable 2.5-inch SSD module. Never seen those around for a long time, actually.
And hey – the front plates are removable too! Just like helmets!
Price of the Strix GD30 is at RM7,499, and it’ll be available starting on 18th September.
