ASUS Malaysia just announced the brand new ZenBook Duo series of laptops in today’s event. We first saw the ZenBook Duo series back at Computex 2019, where we even said that it’s every video editor’s wet dream. As a video editor myself, I absolutely love the idea of having a strip of screen there as it is perfect for video timeline.
We also have both the ZenBook Duo (14-inch) and the ZenBook Pro Duo (15-inch) in our labs, and we sat down with Tech Critter to share our experiences using these two laptops.
The ZenBook Duo and ZenBook Pro Duo are both very similar to each other in terms of the geometry, build quality, and ports available. The main differences here are display size (sizes, since there are two screens) and its resolutions, the specs, and also the location of the exhausts.
Both of these laptops are made entirely out of metal and have this beautiful greenish-blue color and topped off with ASUS’s iconic concentric circle design on the lid itself. These two laptops are relatively thin as well, considering that ASUS needs to make room for an extra screen to literally be stacked on the motherboard area of the laptop. Not exactly ideal to draw with since the display is narrow, though it is great for signing documents if you have a humongous and unnaturally long signature.
As for the price of both the laptops, here they are:
- ASUS ZenBook Duo UX481 (14-inch)
- Intel Core i5 @ RM4,699
- Intel Core i7 @ RM5,699
- ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo UX581 (15-inch)
- Intel Core i7 @ RM12,999
- Intel Core i9 @ RM15,999
