The ASUS ZenFone Live is something that I personally know is coming soon, but I didn’t know it’ll be this soon. The ZenFone Live is made with two things in mind – streaming live, and looking stunning at the same time.

The ASUS ZenFone Live takes on the model number of ZB501KL, and its specs are pretty much at the entry-level smartphone range. It has a Snapdragon 410 chipset with a quad-core 1.2GHz processor and Adreno 306 graphics, 2GB of RAM, and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. To power all of these hardware, ASUS included a 2,650mAh battery for the ZenFone Live.

Then comes the camera – the most important part of any live streams. The ASUS ZenFone Live comes with a 13MP rear-facing camera with an aperture of f/2.0, and a front-facing camera with a 5MP sensor with 1.4µm pixel size, and a lens with f/2.2 aperture. The larger pixel size can increase the light sensitivity of the camera, so it’ll be brighter.

Now many of you might think that with such hardware, it might not be powerful enough for real-time beautification. That’s why ASUS developed hardware-optimized real-time live-streaming beautification technology. That’ll not only help save battery, but also speed up the entire beautification technology, and hence “real-time”.

We discussed in-depth on how hardware-optimized features can be beneficial here. It’s quite technical, but I’m sure it’ll be beneficial to you when it comes to choosing a smartphone.

Anyway, the ASUS ZenFone Live is available in 3 different colours, and it is priced at only RM649.

Color  Price
ZenFone Live (ZB501KL) Navy Black RM649
Shimmer Gold
Rose Pink

Personally speaking, I’m liking this live streaming trend. It’s just that the Malaysian wireless broadband isn’t that stable for live streaming. Seriously, if you’ve tried Facebook Live, you’ll know the dreaded “poor connection” error and the entire live stream just cuts off. There is no way to reconnect other than re-starting another stream!

[UPDATE] ASUS posted this video on the ASUS ZenFone Live – and it’s hilarious!

Don’t worry, it’s nothing scary. Trust me – I’m not a fan of horror too.

I just want to highlight on how creative this ad really is. I mean, it’s not the first time they’ve done something with this theme for an ad video. They did something similar for the ASUS ZenFone 2 too, but it’s in Chinese and I can’t find it back. ?
