It’s been a long time since I first started using Microsoft’s IM service – I think it was back in 2001? I still remember their main rival was ICQ, but amazingly Microsoft shadowed over ICQ, which remains triumphant until Facebook came out with its messaging feature which really decreased the use of Microsoft’s IM service.
Remember the old MSN Browser? Pretty, but impractical and a total resource hog. Then a few years passed and MSN got renamed to Windows Live Messenger – a part of the entire Live suite, where they changed Hotmail to Live too. Then the logo became this one.
Then a few more years passed and 2013 reached, where its death arrives, which is today. Good bye MSN/Windows Live Messenger. I wanted people to use you more but then now you’re going to die in just a matter of hours, so…
Rest in peace.
