It’s the first time a local telco has brought such a solution to market, and the goal is to give businesses a simple, affordable, and accessible way to handle payments and invoicing while preparing them for the digital economy. By packing these features into one compact device, CelcomDigi wants to cut down on disputes, reduce delays, and deliver a smoother customer experience.
The device is also designed to work in areas with limited connectivity, making it especially useful for businesses without accounting systems or those in rural regions where fibre is unavailable. Each unit comes bundled with a CelcomDigi SIM, backed by the company’s nationwide network, ensuring uninterrupted service even in challenging locations.
At RM88 per month, the Soundbox offers a straightforward, no-fuss alternative to traditional e-invoicing systems, which usually involve big upfront costs and complex integration. Merchants simply sign up, get the device, plug it in, and start using it — whether they’re running a warung, a pasar malam stall, or a small shop. It’s inclusivity by design, lowering barriers for underserved communities to embrace digitalisation.
CelcomDigi says this initiative is part of its broader push to empower Malaysia’s MSMEs with digital tools that are easy to adopt. By making processes like payments and invoicing seamless, businesses can focus on growth, make smarter decisions with real-time insights, and build resilience against market uncertainties.
