Display technology has been moving pretty slowly these days, but Samsung is pushing every bit of it to the max. That’s why they’re announcing the brand new CJ791 – the first ever curved monitor with Intel’s Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. It’s a 24-inch monitor and has all the bells and whistles that you’ve come to expect with a Thunderbolt 3 monitor.
Yes, you can dock your laptop to the monitor with a single Thunderbolt 3 cable connected to the monitor itself. With up to 40Gb/s, you can connect all of your peripherals including storage drives and external graphic cards. You can even charge your laptop with this one single cable as the Samsung CJ791 can provide up to 85W of power back to your laptop.
The CJ791 is a 21:9 1440p display – which means it has a resolution of 3440×1440, and a 1,500R radius curvature. Its QLED panel makes its color reproduction to be rated 125% sRGB spectrum and has a 178-degree viewing angle. The bezels are really thin, too.
Wit that said, the Samsung CJ791 is also aimed towards gamers, as it has a 4ms response time. We do not know what’s the refresh rate as of now. Do stay tuned for more, as the Samsung CJ791 will be showing up at CES 2018 anyway.
