Let’s be honest – the Cooler Master COSMOS II has been my personal favorite case since about 8-9 years ago when I first laid my eyes on it. It was love at first sight. Sure, it’s humongous – but it’s a case that screams beauty and elegance, while still maintaining its function as a case. The legend returns as the COSMOS II 25th Anniversary Edition.
Fast forward a few years and the case faded off the market, but this year, Cooler Master decided to bring it back. It’s their 25th anniversary, and they’re taking back the COSMOS II, adding curved tempered glasses on both side panels, and here’s the new COSMOS II 25th Anniversary Edition.
It still uses aluminium. It still has those two handlebars at the top and bottom. Heck, the case still has an absurd amount of hard drive caddies like before! Side panels still swivel outwards like it used to, too. And yes, the swappable hard drive bays are still there. I miss these functional features that these old cases have. I mean, remember the CM690? That’s one of Cooler Master’s legendary mid-tower case with quite a lot of niche yet functional features.
Of course, what’s the price of this COSMOS II 25th Anniversary Edition? It ought to be something special – right? Yes it is – and it’s priced at RM1,399.
Now, you might say that this price tag is ridiculously high – but let me tell you something. The COSMOS II 25th Anniversary Edition is a full tower case. It can take in E-ATX motherboards like boss. It can even take in a total of 13 3.5-inch hard disks. Thirteen of them. I don’t even have that many SATA ports on my motherboard!
You can even pretty much stuff in whatever air cooler you want as it can support up to 190mm CPU coolers. As for graphics card length, don’t worry about it. You have plenty of space as the COSMOS II 25th Anniversary Edition can take up to 385mm length for your graphics card.
It’s an insanely huge case, but trust me – the COSMOS II by itself is already a legendary case.
