Quite some time ago, Cooler Master launched two cases – the MasterBox Lite 5, then the RGB variant of it, and also the MasterBox Lite 3.1. Technically, they all look the same and are made out of the same materials. Now, the new MasterBox Lite series refresh no longer has tinted acrylic side panel, but instead, it now has tempered glass. Though, the tinted acrylic front bezel that’s reminiscent of a sloped trapezoid still remains.
I think this aces nicely sums up the year that was 2017. Tempered glass and RGB is everywhere – and we can all see that throughout this year. With that said, the Cooler Master Masterbox Lite series refresh brings you just that.
With the brand new MasterBox Lite 5 RGB and MasterBox Lite 3.1 TG, they both now have a 4mm thick tempered glass side panel – which is actually decent – to house all your hardware. We did a showcase build with Tech Critter on the original MasterBox Lite 5 with the tinted acrylic side panel, by the way.
The MasterBox Lite 5 does have the same internal design as the MasterBox MB600L that we reviewed here too – just that the front bezel is different.
The MasterBox Lite 5 RGB does come with 3 RGB fans out of the box, so you can already bling your rivals immediately.
The MasterBox Lite refresh is priced at RM299 for the MasterBox Lite 5 RGB, whereas the MasterBox Lite 3.1 TG costs RM199.
Honestly, the MasterBox Lite 5 RGB does have a pretty good price considering that it does indeed come with a total of 3 RGB fans.
