Dell Technologies has announced they are going even more all in than ever to expand the AI ecosystem by announcing several new server-grade equipment.

Dell Technologies AI Factory EcosystemAlthough part of their plan also covers the Copilot+ AI PCs, you can find them out in this post instead.

To start, we’ll go with networking gears with the top one – the PowerSwitch-Z9864F-ON equipped with a Broadcom Tomahawk chipset that delivers 2x the network performance of AI applications within a modern network architecture with easy scalability and high throughput and low latency signals.

On the other hand, the Dell PowerEdge XE9680 (bottom left) rack server supports Broadcom’s 400G PCIe Gen 5.0 Ethernet adapters which will be suitable as the central unit for all connected equipment that leads to a robust ethernet infrastructure.

Adding on top of the hardware is the software in the form of Enterprise SONiC Distribution promises to enhance AI performance in general while the SmartFabric Manager for SONiC software simplifies deployment and streamlines management.

The bottom right is the PowerScale F910 serving as the storage unit with all flash-based storage units that practically eliminate bottlenecks in this aspect with up to 127% improvement in performance alongside increased density.

Following up the storage unit is Project Lightning – a highly performant file system
software architecture that is parallel-based and helps cut down training times for large-scale and complex AI workflows.

Lastly, the Dell Solution AI Data Protection helps safeguard all critical AI applications in development or deployment together with all the necessary but sensitive information.

Other Notable Movements

  • Dell Enterprise Hub on Hugging Face – Ready to use LLMs for organizations and enterprises to jump-start their Gen-AI applications
  • Continuous partnership with Meta – Meta Llama 3 LLM support with more deployment, training, and results monitoring
