I’m pretty sure some of you have already heard of the rebranded Galaxy Fold. No, it’s not a copycat device – it’s a straight-up repackage of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, and it was called the Escobar Fold 2.
You can scrape the “gold” off of the Escobar Fold 2 to reveal the Galaxy Fold inside, by the way. And Escobar isn’t hiding the fact that in its official unboxing video too. It has Bixby Vision in the camera app. Their marketing campaign also loudly touted the phrase “RIP Samsung” despite them selling a fully Samsung-made product.
According to Escobar’s website’s legal section, Samsung sued them, and Samsung won. Escobar also published and summarized the legal case on their website as if it’s a trophy. Escobar also removed the Escobar Fold 2 from their website – but all the marketing videos are still on their YouTube channel.
And now, Escobar is back again with yet another product. This time, it’s the Apple iPhone 11 Pro with 256GB of internal storage. Covered with 24K gold and priced at just USD $499! That’s a good deal, right? Well… there are lots of people who already said that Escobar is a scam.
And once again, Escobar got a bunch of ladies with minimal clothes and using exorbitant marketing phrases like “RIP Apple”.
And funnily enough – according to Escobar’s website’s legal section once again, Escobar is suing Apple this time around. I’m not sure about its legitimacy but I’m not sure what Escobar is trying to achieve.
Either way, just stay away and don’t buy any devices from Escobar.
