Around last week, Samsung has added several new features and functions to the very first Galaxy Watch.
Launched way back in 2018, it paved the way for the smart wearables market and show how things should be done with a great standard of build quality and functions, albeit being very lacking in today’s competition level. The R810XXU1FUB6 update is currently out in the US and South Korea as of now with more regions joining the party later on. As a side note, Galaxy Watch Active users will receive this update somewhere down the line, as promised by Samsung.
Here’s a list of stuff that you can expect when the Galaxy Watch received and installed the update.
- See images in notifications
- AR emoji + Bitmoji support
- Additional audio feedback for pace and heart rate during exercise tracking
- Support for scrolling screenshots capturing
While being essential and basic features nowadays, it is nice to see Samsung just ditch support for its older line of products. The Galaxy Watch Active 3 could use some of these as well.
From recent industry rumors, it seems that Samsung is also heavily considering the replacement of Tizen OS for Wear OS with greater compatibility and software management but that’s good news for users with more 3rd party apps readily available for use and kid you not, the Galaxy Watch wearables are some of the best out there.
