Grab is once again expanding the number of service that it brings to the citizens of Malaysia as they just announced that GrabExpress, their on-demand delivery service, is now available in the Klang Valley area.
It was first in beta stage last year and now it is touted as a fast, convenient, safe, and affordable on-demand door-to-door delivery service. And yes, the delivery will be fulfilled within hours. Even we have a gift from Grab that is delivered to us with GrabExpress!
Instead of just ordering a regular Grab car and place the items inside the car but not ourselves (I know some of us actually did that), GrabExpress is dedicated just for item delivery. From parcels to documents, GrabExpress will deliver that item.
GrabExpress, which is also available in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines, is our latest addition to our growing suite of services on the Grab App to serve the daily needs of our customers – be it how they commute, order food, complete transactions; and now, real-time on-demand deliveries, all through a single platform. In fact, it is fast becoming one of the preferred options of delivery.
As a tech based home-grown company, we not only want to help address the everyday needs of our users, but we also want to support the e-commerce industry which is growing in Malaysia. With GrabExpress, home-based entrepreneurs and social sellers can easily utilise our service to deliver goods and items directly to their customers. This in turn will also allow them the flexibility to focus on their business growth while knowing that they have a reliable logistics partner.
– Adelene Foo, Regional Head of GrabExpress
So how do you start using GrabExpress? It’s quite simple, actually. It’s just like ordering a regular Grab ride, but now you select delivery instead of a ride. Then, enter your recipient’s name and address, and your courier will arrive. Hand over the item to be delivered and within hours (let’s not forget about the Klang Valley traffic) and it will be delivered!
GrabExpress also touts two important things – firstly being a much safer way to courier fragile items, and GrabExpress also offers an insurance coverage of up to RM500.
UPDATE: We asked Grab if there are any limitations to GrabExpress, and we were told that the maximum size of the item is 30cm X 45 cm X 42 cm and the weight limit is at 10kg.
In conjunction with the grand launch of GrabExpress, first time users can get RM5 OFF x 1 delivery with the promo code, ‘GRABEXPRESS’. The promotion is limited to the first 1000 redemptions.
