Honor Malaysia has just announced that they’re bringing in the Honor Play – Player Edition! We reviewed the original Honor Play right here – and what’s different with the Player Edition?
Not much, actually. Just the back of the phone now has a new design with many lines across it. Reminds me of PCB trace lines.
The Honor Play – Player Edition will be available at RM1299 starting 7th September 2018, and each purchase of the special edition device made via both HiHonor and Shopee will come with an Ipega 9087 Controller and exclusive PUBG stickers in limited edition box.
The new variant will also be available in selected official Honor retail stores nationwide starting on 7 September 2018 at RM1299 too. However, the special Player Edition box is currently exclusive for online purchase only at Honor Official Shopee store and Honor Malaysia official site.
To be honest, I’d say skip the Honor Play and go for the Pocophone F1 – which is also RM1,299 after SST. The Honor Play overheats easily, has the outdated Kirin 970 which is inefficient, smaller battery, and it has a horrible camera – so go with the Pocophone F1. We also have the full review here. Also, our readers seem to like the Pocophone F1 a lot more than Honor Play.
Before getting the Honor Play, I suggest everyone to read up on how Huawei/Honor cheats benchmarks and mislead customers about GPU Turbo at this article here.
