The market for tablets is starting to be spicy once again! We have the usual brands – Apple, Samsung, and Huawei. There are tablets ranging from entry-level to high-end ones and Huawei Malaysia is bringing in the company’s highest-end tablet into the market soon. That is the MatePad Pro.
This MatePad Pro is the company’s latest flagship tablet and it also comes equipped with 5G connectivity too – which means it is using the company’s latest HiSilicon Kirin 990 chipset.
Let’s first go through the specs of the Huawei MatePad Pro 5G:
- 10.8-inch IPS LCD screen
- 2560×1600 pixels in resolution
- HiSilicon Kirin 990 chipset
- Up to 8GB RAM
- Up to 512GB of internal storage
- 13MP f/1.8 rear-facing camera
- 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera
- 7,250mAh battery
- 40W fast charging
- Android 10 with Huawei Mobile Services
- Stylus support
When it comes to tablets, I don’t really mind if it’s not using Google’s services. All I need is a browser that works fantastically and the device does not lag. For me, tablets are meant to be used for work – not really for entertainment although it can do that perfectly as well.
Maybe I’ll get install Amazon’s Kindle app too since I read ebooks.
The Huawei MatePad Pro will be available in a total of 2 different finishes – vegan leather finish in Forest Green and Orange color, whereby the fiberglass finish in Pearl White and Midnight Grey colors.
One particular feature for Huawei smartphone users is the Huawei Share app. It brings your phone’s screen into the tablet, so we can control both devices with just one screen. That’s a handy tool considering mobile warriors like us do not have much space to work while we’re at events.
The new MatePad Pro supports the new Huawei M-Pencil and also the Smart Magnetic Keyboard. This means that you can write, draw, or type documents on the MatePad Pro.
Huawei also created a proprietary software called MEETime which shares your tablet screen with another person but we can interact with others by drawing on the screen too. It is definitely useful especially for collaborative work or meetings.
Currently, we do not have the pricing or availability of the MatePad Pro yet – but we’re guessing that it will be available after the whole restricted movement order.
