PSB Speakers – M4U 2
Headphones with read sound for real people. Designed in Canada. It comes with active noise cancelling feature which greatly reduces and isolate your song with the ambient sound. Let’s get into the detail on sound and constructions of this headphones.
The initial appearance was okay. Maybe I was expecting something more from a nearly RM 1K headphones but the real deal is the sound perfromance. The headphones comes with a removable cable which is super convenient and I believe longer lasting because one of the major reasons headphones die is because of their cables that tend to break at the core. The removable cable can also be attached on the left or right side of the headphones. Having a removable cable is also an advantage in case you dig cables with higher quality and shielding instead of the stock one but for me, I think the stock cable is already great.
This product is adjustable and supported with high quality metal brackets which you do not need to worry about wear and breaking the adjustable mechanism which also acts as a fold able hinge. The paddings are soft and comfortable while being water proof, which makes things more hygienic; allows you to clean it with some wipes. The outer shell construction however is a bit concerning; the plastic they used feels and looks like an average plastic. However, the cuts on the plastic looks sharp but it is actually cut and polished properly. Overall look, I think it’s good that they focus on the vital components such as the metal brackets for adjustment and fold together with the output female jack.
Etymotic Research Line
They did let us try various models of the Etymotic Research products ranging from entry level to the best, studio quality earphone.
Their model system works my labelling each according to performance and device. Such as the MC2, where MC means their performance grade and the number tells if it’s a pure earphone or headset for Android or iOS products.
They have ER, MC, HF and EK too, while the number corresponds like so : 2 = Android, 3 = iOS and 5 = pure earphone.
ER 4 Micropro and ER 45
The best model would be the ER models where it was designed for studio and engineering use as well for being used in medical field for research and diagnostics. This is one of the first model to be commercialized using this technology.
These are top of the line earphones.
HF 2, 3 and 5
These would be the second best performance earphones just right below the ER line. They call it the most accurate noise-isolating earphones which is below RM 500.
MC 2, 3 and 5
The line of budget but still accurate and gives high performance in music and sound. It is priced around RM 239.
EK 5
We must never ignore the fact that kids nowdays also listen to a lot of music. We want them to listen to music safe. These pairs of earphones are made especially for them. It was designed to limit the volume which is fixed in it’s hardware so you won’t worry about your children damaging their ears from loud music especially when their ear drums are not fully matured.
