It’s been many months since we first heard and seen the Lenovo Legion Duel gaming smartphone. It’s an interesting take to the gaming phone approach and has a few feature highlights too.
But first, we have to look at the specs first:
- 6.65-inch AMOLED
- 2340×1080 pixels in resolution
- 144Hz refresh rate
- HDR10+
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+
- Up to 16GB RAM
- Up to 512GB storage
- No expandable storage
- Dual rear-facing cameras
- Main: 64MP f/1.9
- Ultra-wide angle: 16MP f/2.2
- Motorized 20MP f/2.2 selfie camera on the side
- 5,000mAh battery
- Supports up to 90W charging
- 65W charger included (for Asia)
The Lenovo Legion Duel focuses on solving 4 pain points: heat, controls, battery life, and also live streaming.
To tackle the heat, Lenovo uses some cooling systems on the phone itself to keep the temperature in check. Still, wicking heat away from the phone is an issue.
As for controls, it’s also using virtual ultrasonic trigger buttons, just like this phone. There’s also a feature like NVIDIA’s GeForce Experience where it can save 15 seconds of previous gameplay if you forgot to hit record. That’s excellent!
The battery life is something unique. It’s using a dual-cell battery which means the charger can do something like a “divide and conquer” strategy. A single charge going in, charges both cells of the battery in the same time, which in turn speeds up the charging time.
Moreover, the included charger has dual USB-C ports.
For live streaming, it’s simple – the Lenovo Legion Duel changed the popup selfie camera’s position to the side so that you can live stream without obstructing the camera while gaming.
