Maybank has officially revealed the all-new banking app called MAE by Maybank2u that is built to fit the lifestyle of Malaysians with a unique ecosystem that will help taking charge of all money matters aside from the regular banking actions.
Before you ask, yes, this app retains all features of Maybank2u such as money transfer, bill payment, account management, all those banking functions you are used to is all in the MAE app.
Many new features have been implemented in the new app for refreshing and meaningful user experience. The brand new Expenses tool is a spending tracking function that sums up all your transactions across accounts, cards, and QR code payments into one single, holistic view for a quick and easy to understand summarized categories such as Food, Shopping, and Utilities and more. You can manually add records as well for cash transactions that could be missed out too.
For savings, the Tabung feature introduces a whole new meaning of teamwork. Aside from the usual Individual type for personal use, you can now contribute alongside your family and friends into a single pool of funds under the Group Savings category. Your next impulse trip or group vacation is going to be much easier to achieve through this wonderful feature.
To help accelerate the saving process, the Boosters feature is here to complement your daily spending habits to help you accumulate funds in many little ways and that includes Spare Change which rounds up expenses and transfers the balance into Tabung, Scan and Save which credits savings earned from promotions used during QR transactions and Guilty Pleasure, which allows you to set a daily spending limit in any category of your choice and an amount to be credited into your Tabung if the limit is exceeded.
Maybank has also created a new Visa Debit Card to go with the MAE app. It hosts several benefits such as competitive foreign exchange rates and perks customized for local and oversea spending. All you need to do is to apply for it within the MAE app and it will be delivered to your doorsteps. Easy as that. One of the most convenient features is that when traveling to other countries, the savings amount will be converted into the specific currency that allows the user to roughly know the amount and their spending limits as well and it is actually very nice to have it.
To tackle the first world problem of Malaysians which is “Eat what? Go where eat?”, the Makan Mana wheel is here to solve the issue for you and the gang while highlighting partner merchants that you can enjoy benefits from visiting their shop for a meal, covered across entire Malaysia.

The MAE app is available for download now for both Android and iOS users. Existing Maybank2u users just need to go through a simple security setup and transit into the new app immediately while non-Maybank users can also apply for it via the app without visiting a branch and have banking features and access as well.
