Here it is. The first smartphone to be using the 108MP camera sensor. This camera sensor is the main highlight of the Mi Note 10 series of smartphones. Xiaomi partnered with Samsung to bring you the first smartphone to be using this sensor – and it’s in Malaysia now.

Xiaomi Malaysia is really closing the launch time gap when compared to China’s launch time. The Mi Note 10 Pro was launched about a month ago. Both the Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro will be available for sale on the 7th December 2019.

Again, looking at the specs, the Mi Note 10 Pro isn’t going to be number 1 in benchmarks – but that’s okay since the Snapdragon 730G chipset is very powerful and capable of running the current latest games at its highest settings and highest frame rate.

The Mi Note 10 Pro comes at the price of RM2,499. You can get RM100 off on any other Mi Store products with a purchase-with-purchase basis, alongside with a 12-month screen replacement program. Valid from 7th to 15th December.

Stepping down a notch, the non-Pro version of the Mi Note 10 packs a very similar set of hardware:

  • 6.47-inch AMOLED display with waterdrop notch
    • 2340×1080 pixels in resolution
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G
  • 6GB RAM
  • 128GB storage
  • Penta rear-facing cameras
    • Main: 108MP f/1.7 with 7P lens; PDAF, Laser AF, OIS
    • 2x optical zoom telephoto: 12MP f/2.0; Dual Pixel PDAF, Laser AF, 2x optical zoom
    • 5x optical zoom telephoto: 5MP (upscaled to 8MP) f/2.0; PDAF, Laser AF, OIS, 5x optical zoom
    • Ultrawide angle: 20MP f/2.2; Laser AF
    • Macro: 2MP f/2.4
  • 32MP f/2.0 selfie camera
  • 5,260mAh battery
  • Android 9.0 with MIUI 11

Both of them are nearly identical here but the biggest difference is in its internal storage. Stepping down from 256GB to 128GB of storage is not going to be fun, since the Mi Note 10 series does not have microSD card slot. And a single 108MP picture can chew through gigabyte after gigabyte of data easily.

Also, the lens for the 108MP main camera has been downgraded from 8P to 7P.

The Mi Note 10 comes with at RM2,099. It comes with the RM100 off with a purchase-with-purchase basis too. Valid from 7th to 15th December.
