“There’s a surface for everyone” is what Microsoft is saying. Microsoft just expanded their surface lineup in Malaysia with the brand new Surface Book 2, Surface Pro, and the Surface Laptop.
The Surface Book 2 is the return of the design of a laptop that wowed many. It’s a convertible laptop that has a hinge that is oddly satisfying to look at. Powered by the latest Intel 8th Gen Core processor and the latest NVIDIA GeForce GPU, the Surface Book 2 is claimed to be 5 times more powerful than the original.
Since it is indeed a convertible, the Surface Book 2 can be used in a total of 4 modes – Studio mode, Laptop mode, View mode, and Tablet mode by detaching the screen from the keyboard entirely.
The Surface Book 2 is available in both 13.5-inch or 15-inch option and boasts a 17-hour long battery life.
As for the Surface Laptop, it’s a traditional clamshell laptop design that weighs only 1.25kg and is less than 14.5mm thin. Powered by an Intel 7th Gen Core processor, Microsoft claims that it is able to provide up to 14.5 hours of battery life too.
In addition, the Surface Laptop features a signature keyboard covered in Alcantara material. That certainly is something special.
The Surface Laptop is now available for purchase in Malaysia at local Surface authorized retailers. The Surface Book 2 is currently available for pre-orders at Surface authorized retailers and will be available for purchase from the 15th of March onwards.
The recommended retail price for the Surface Book 2, Surface Laptop as well as Surface Accessories and adapters are as follows:
