All of a sudden, TP-Link just made an announcement that Neffos, their smartphone brand, is releasing a brand new smartphone – the Neffos C5 Plus. This phone is unique as it runs on Android Go.
Continuing the popular Neffos C5A that was announced nearly a year ago, the Neffos C5 Plus is bringing in premium service with a super low price. Of course, for a smartphone that is running on the Android One program means that its specs are meant for the lower end of the market.
- 5.34-inch TN panel display with 960×480 pixels in resolution (16:9 aspect ratio)
- MediaTek MTK6580M chipset
- 4x Cortex-A7 @ 1.3GHz
- Mali-400 GPU
- 5MP rear-facing camera
- 2MP selfie camera
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB of internal storage
- 2,200mAh battery
- Android Go version 8.1 Oreo
Once again, the Android go version of Android phones are meant for the lower end of the market. These phones which are created under the Android Go umbrella is certified by Google and they run on a separate lite version of Android apps – which are dubbed as “Go” here.
The Neffos C5 Plus – being a part of the Android Go program – means that updates and security patches come directly from Google themselves. It is obviously an improvement over its predecessor in terms of service, since it is running on Android Go. Safe to say, there are no bloatware too.
The Neffos C5 Plus is available now in stores for just RM249. If you buy it from Neffos’s official LazMall store in Lazada, you can get a microfiber tower, a glass bottle, an iRing, and a selfie stick – all for free.
The only smartphone that Neffos has to compete now is the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Go which just passed SIRIM certification.
