We all know that the Nokia 9 PureView will come some time soon. A few months ago, the news broke out that the PureView brand now belongs to HMD Global, the home of Nokia smartphones once again. That includes all of the PureView technologies as well. We all know that Nokia did some magic back in the days with that technology already – namely the 808 PureView.
All of a sudden, the Nokia 9 PureView promotional video was leaked, thanks to a channel that goes by the name MySmartPrice. Unfortunately, it is a portrait video but it still reveals all the information that we’re looking for.
Let’s first talk about the crazy camera setup. Here it is confirmed that the camera does indeed take 5 simultaneous shots – and what we presume here is that the image will be stitched together.
Nokia has also dodged the notch this time around as the Nokia 9 PureView has a 5.99-inch 2K display with HDR10 display. They’re calling it the PureDisplay – goes hand in hand with the PureView branding.
It has an under-display fingerprint scanner as well. We’re not sure how it works yet – but from our past experience, it’s not going to be as speedy or reliable as the traditional ones.
Nokia has once again opted for Google’s Android One program too. They promise 2 years worth of updates, which is great.
However, it comes with a Snapdragon 845 only while the upcoming Snapdragon 855 chipset has already been announced. That means it does come packed with one of the best performing chipset, but it will not be the best that Qualcomm has to offer.
In the video, it was also revealed that the Nokia 9 PureView comes with 6GB of RAM and a total of 128GB storage. I presume that Nokia will be offering a few more variants with more RAM and more storage – and presumably with microSD slot as well.
Obviously we do not have a launch date or the price yet – but that will come soon.
