Today, OPPO announced another new model for their A-series lineup, the OPPO A31. Not to be confused with the 2015 version, the 2020 version is not a refresh, but instead, an all-new device that sports current generation designs fitted with mid-tier hardware which is budget-friendly while hosting essential features for daily use.
OPPO A31
The A31 is fitted with MediaTek Helio P35 SoC which is sufficient for running a 1600×720 screen alongside 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The notch is your run-of-the-mill waterdrop design, but slightly smaller than the usual that gives it a tiny bit more real estate for the display.
It also has a triple rear-facing camera setup:
- Main: 12 MP, f/1.8 with PDAF
- Macro: 2 MP f/2.4
- Depth sensor
- 8MP selfie camera
The battery comes in at 4320mAh and the device will have 2 colors: Fantasy White and Mystery Black.
As compared with several close competitors that have been reviewed by us, such as the realme C3, realme 5, 5s, 5i, and the 5 Pro, one-way OPPO could stand out from them is through the camera department, particularly software processing and enhancement, as OPPO’s main selling point are mostly targeted towards user who requires decent photo qualities, not to mention about the price-to-performance ratio of its SoC, battery, RAM and storage are slightly worse. Therefore it seems like a nitch product in general. Let us know if you would like us to review A31’s overall user experience.
The OPPO A31 is priced at RM699 and will be arriving soon to their official web store or other platforms such as Lazada and Shopee.
