So, the OPPO INNO DAY 2020 happened a few days ago in Shenzhen. With the “Leap into the Future” theme, the expo shows off some of the most innovative concept techs to date and the company’s take on a smart ubiquitous environment through the “3+N+X” strategy.
In short, the 3 stands for “Hardware, Software, Services” and the N represents features and capabilities provided by OPPO’s ecosystem such as AI, security, multimedia, interconnectivity, and more with the X referring to the leading-edge and differentiated technologies and strategic resources such as the flash charge technology.
1 of the most interesting concept devices shown off at the expo is the OPPO X 2021 rollable concept handset that realizes the dream of flexible displays and takes it to the next level. Instead of being foldable like the Galaxy Z Fold 2 or Z Flip, this one rolls out extra screen estate on the side through the proprietary Warp Track mechanism that features a motor and 2-in-1 plate.
According to reports, the adjustment is fully customizable depending on the user’s need and the actual task being executed.
Next up, the OPPO AR Glass 2021 lets you take a deep dive into the digital world. Being compact and ultra-light that is built with Birdbath optical solution, it features a combination of sensors such as a stereo fisheye camera which is capable of tracking a single hand by making 21 key joints as markers, a ToF sensor, and an RGB camera to bring you an immersive and interactive experience through a variety of ways such as via smartphone, gesture, and precision 3-dimensional spatial location tracking.
Several consumer-focused application is already in the works, such as movies, streaming, games, home, video shooting, and more which all can be controlled through voice recognition.
Last but not least, the CybeReal AR application uses real-time, spatial calculation technology to build and localize the surrounding with high precision to reconstruct the world down to centimeters accuracy that is also supported by several techs working together, including OPPO Cloud and the device’s Wi-Fi, BlueTooth and GPS. Moreover, the AI algorithm will know what items it is currently trying to build within the AR environment which provides even greater details and authenticity to the end product.
