OPPO has announced a collaboration with Manus, an AI agent platform, to bring more capable agentic AI to smartphones. Manus’ agentic capabilities will be integrated into OPPO’s AI Mind Pilot, helping users turn complex, multi-step tasks into ready-to-use results. It fits OPPO’s vision of Personalized Proactive Intelligence, where AI understands the user and proactively helps get things done.
The first place users will see it is AI Mind Pilot’s new Agent Mode on the upcoming OPPO Find X10 Series running ColorOS 17. Rather than just answering questions, AI Mind Pilot is designed to understand your end goal, break it into steps, find relevant information, pick the right tools, and deliver a finished result. It can work directly with files and photos stored on the phone.
OPPO’s example is trip planning. Ask AI Mind Pilot to organise your travel plans, and it can find flight tickets, hotel bookings, restaurant reservations, and attraction tickets scattered across different apps, then combine them with online information into a personalised day-by-day itinerary. You don’t have to gather and upload anything manually. The same approach covers other tasks, such as finding and organising photos from a trip, locating specific images, or pulling together files and online information into a presentation, proposal, or portfolio from a single prompt.
Because the agent works with personal data, OPPO stresses privacy and control:
- Local first: ColorOS 17 uses on-device models to understand and organise information locally.
- Local tasks stay local: For tasks like finding, organising, or renaming files and photos, the original content stays on the device and isn’t shared with Manus.
- Consent for external processing: When a task needs external processing, AI Mind Pilot asks for explicit confirmation before content is uploaded or shared.
- User control: Users decide what information is accessed, which actions are taken, and whether external processing is allowed.
The brand will reveal more details such as availability, supported markets, and user benefits at the official launch.
