A few days ago, there was a surprise announcement that suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and it shocked all of us. It was the announcement of the Realme X – a smartphone with the high-end specs from Realme. No one expected that this will appear – but it did.
The Realme X and Realme X Lite (or known as the Youth Edition) is slated to be unveiled on 15th May. Coincidentally, Realme Malaysia will be launching the Realme 3 Pro on 14th May. We expect there will be at least some mention or tease about the Realme X or the Lite edition on that day too.
Little is known about the Realme X Lite, but it could be a China-exclusive with slightly updated specs compared to the Realme 3 Pro. Whichever the case may be, the Realme X is what we’re interested today.
The company took it to Weibo whereby they posted an image alongside with caption full of teasers of what to expect from the Realme X.
When translated, we confirmed two things – it has a 91.2% screen-to-body ratio, a pop-up selfie camera that can be lifted up 200,000 times, and those are the things that are confirmed for now.
As far as speculation goes, rumors are saying that the Realme X will sport a behemoth list of specs, starting with Snapdragon 855 chipset alongside with at least 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. We surely hope that it has at least 4,000mAh battery and SuperVOOC charging, all while keeping the price competitive with the Xiaomi Mi 9.
Realme is being a tease right now and has published the product page for both the Realme X and Realme X Youth Edition over at JD.com (a Chinese e-commerce platform) and hid all of the details. With Realme’s official expansion to the China market, it is no surprise that they are doing it with a bang.
UPDATE: Specs for the Realme X and Realme X Lite are out!
GSM Arena has obtained a list of specs from TEENA about the Realme X and Realme X Lite. The specs are looking to be pretty good too, but the Realme X Lite is actually a refresh of the Realme 3 Pro. Even the codename is the same – RMX1851.
