ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX502 Glacier Blue

Let’s take a look at the brand new realme X2 Pro. It is slated to be released in the Malaysian market on 2nd December 2019, and we already have an early unit with us. We’ve been using the realme X2 Pro for more than a week now, and we can’t contain our excitement about the new SuperVOOC charger that is included in the realme X2 Pro.

Thanks to realme Malaysia for letting us share the excitement with you – because this is literally the fastest charging speed on a smartphone that we’ve tested so far.

Let’s dive right into the charger of the realme X2 Pro. The SuperVOOC charger itself is a little boxier than before, but this charger can output either the standard 5V 2A, or at 10V 5A, which results in 50W.

We should first clarify that this is not the Malaysian retail unit, hence the charger has the type-A power plug.

Fifty watts for a smartphone charger! Just how fast can the 50W charger charge the realme X2 Pro’s 4,000mAh battery? The answer is unfathomably fast. Just take a look at the graph down below.

When we compared this charger with other typical 5V 2A chargers, the charging speed difference is just way too much.

We also summarized the time taken to reach these specific battery levels.

realme X2 Pro
Battery level Time taken (minutes)
SuperVOOC (50W) Standard 5V 2A (10W)
50% 9 37
75% ~15 65

By comparing this with some other smartphones, it is nearly two faster than Huawei’s SuperCharge charger – which is impressive! You can literally see the percentage go up by up to a two decimal point accuracy. And yes, by the looks of it – the numbers shown here is indeed accurate.

The realme X2 Pro comes with the highest-end flagship specs that can be found on a smartphone right now. It comes with:

  • 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with waterdrop notch
    • 2400×1080 pixels in resolution
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset
  • 12GB LPDDR4X RAM
  • 256GB of internal storage (UFS 3.0)
  • Quadruple rear-facing cameras
    • Main: 64MP f/1.8 with PDAF
    • Telephoto: 12MP f/2.5 with PDAF, 2x optical zoom
    • Ultrawide angle: 8MP f/2.2 with PDAF
    • Depth sensor
  • 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera
  • Android 9.0 Pie with ColorOS 6.1
  • 4,000mAh battery

This is also in realme’s premium line of smartphones as it has a glass sandwich design with a nice metal frame with a matte finish. I adore how the metal frame curves and meets the glass at the back.

Just how great is the currently most hyped and strongest flagship smartphone? Well, we’ll have to wait for the full review – which will come out in about another week.
