We all seen that the Realme has already shown off their prototype smartphone sporting the Samsung GW1 camera sensor that has 64MP in resolution. Then today, we saw one new image sample – but this time, on a Redmi smartphone.

Ice Universe, the cool cat that always posts the latest insider news about the smartphone industry, just posted an image which the cat claims to be a sample image from the upcoming Redmi smartphone that will have Samsung’s GW1 camera sensor.

This Samsung GW1 camera sensor has a 64MP resolution. While there are no chipsets in the market that can capture 64MP pictures natively, it can be done through some software processing by first taking the 4x 16MP pictures, then stitching them back together to create the 64MP image.

That is quite a common technique since the Redmi Note 7 Pro. That phone is using the Snapdragon 660 chipset which is unable to take 48MP pictures natively. What it does is taking four 12MP pictures natively then stitching them via software.

Now, we already have two companies showing off their upcoming smartphones featuring the Samsung GW1 camera sensor. I wonder if the Note 10 will feature their new camera sensor. Or perhaps the S11? The camera lens and sensor are due for an upgrade.
