Okay, this is going to be a quick review since this phone is… a rather peculiar one. It’s the OPPO Reno11 F, which is more like a budget-friendly version of the Reno11 but in a weird way. So, let’s get into it.

Design

Starting with the design. The Reno11 F looks and feels okay, kinda plasticky and the back panel just doesn’t feel good. It is available in 3 colors – Ocean Blue, Coral Purple, or the one we have here – the Palm Green.

Honestly speaking, I think the phone looks alright with this color – except for that camera bump that could’ve been reduced in size.

Cameras

That’s because this phone has three cameras and they could’ve all been placed closer together. Actually, the 3rd camera isn’t particularly useful anyway since it’s a 2MP macro camera. Yea… it’s not going to take any good pictures.

Screen

Now, the screen. This phone has the same 6.7-inch OLED screen with the same resolution of 2412×1080 pixels and can go up to 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of the color accuracy, it can achieve 100% sRGB and 98.63% of DCI-P3 color gamuts, and can go up to 900 nits brightness. With all things considered, this is a very good screen.

Performance

The performance of this phone is also pretty good as it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050. I mean, it’s a low-powered chip and the phone just wouldn’t thermal throttle as the chip just doesn’t produce enough heat.

We can play Genshin Impact on it and the experience – I’d say is pretty okay. Just manage your expectations, and you’ll have a good time gaming on this phone.

Software

The software is pretty simple so I’m going to skip pretty much most of this part since it’s the same as any other phones within the Reno series. So, check out our review of the Reno11 Pro+ 5G instead.

As a quick recap, ColorOS is actually quite a good skin for phones. Lots of nice features like the Shelf, but also comes with lots of weird design decisions like double-pressing the power button to bring up Fineasy that I won’t use. I can’t change it to Google Pay.

Then there’s also the usual slew of bloatware like Hot Games, Hot Apps, and all that stuff. Typical OPPO stuff.

Battery life

This Reno11 F also comes with a 5,000mAh battery and it can last for more than 15 hours in our battery life test – which is not a surprise given that the Dimensity 7050 is a low-powered chip anyway.

Charging speed

Now, the charging speed. It does come with a 67W SuperVOOC charger in the box – and it can charge the phone from 15% to completion in about 40-ish minutes. Very good, actually.

Few more things to mention

And a few more things to mention before we end this review – it uses a USB 2.0 port at the bottom and cannot output video via USB-C, but it does have a hybrid microSD card slot.

Unfortunately, there is no audio jack – which is rather disappointing.

Should you buy the OPPO Reno11 F?

Now, you might have realized that I’m pretty much speedrunning this entire review. It’s not because I think this phone is uninteresting, but because this phone in itself is pretty simple. However, the price of it is what enticed me the most.

For just RM1,399, you can buy the OPPO Reno11 F. When we compare it with OPPO’s very own Reno11 5G, this phone is a few hundred Ringgit cheaper. The main differences are mostly within the camera aspect. But they both use the same screen, same chipset, and have the same battery capacity and also the same fast charger. Immediately, the Reno11 F becomes a very good choice.
